Matthew – 1 Year 30 Weeks Old

There can be no doubt in anyone’s mind that Matthew is my child. He LOVES his chocolate. Matthew still has some Easter Egg (yes, I’m aware Easter was 4 months ago, he got given a number of them) hanging around in the fridge and one is currently open and in a sealed bag. The other night, mum asked Matthew if he would like a bit of chocolate. Matthew ran to the fridge and waited patiently, eyes wide open full of hope as Mum opened the fridge and got the chocolate out. Then Matthew stamped his feet all excitedly, hands up in the air while making some very excited noise. Once the chocolate was in his hand he shoved it all in his mouth as quickly as possible, just incase anyone tried to take it away. Just like his mummy.

I attempted to take Matthew along to Mainly Music again. It was pretty unsuccessful. Matthew cried and wriggled and whined for the half an hour worth of music because he wanted to go play on the slide and other toys that were hidden behind the curtain. Then after the half hour mini tantrum (I say mini because he wasn’t screaming, but it was still a tantrum), he stopped because the music had finished and he was allowed to go play with the toys. I’m not sure this was such a great thing as potentially he thought his complaining had got him is own way, but I know he is too young to understand being patient and waiting. I think it will be the last time I take Matthew along to music for a while though, it’s really not worth the hassle.

Matthew and I attended the Big Latch On 2012 this past Friday. We went last year, and at the time I didn’t know if I would attend again (mainly due to age) but here we are, still going strong at almost 19 months. We went along to the local LLL for the Big Latch On, which was a wonderful atmosphere. There was food and drink and great company. About 22 ladies registered for the latch on at Howick and 19 successfully latched at 10.30am. Globally there were 1571 babies who latched, so it was awesome to be part of that.
