Matthew – 1 Year 23 Weeks OldJuly 8th, 2012 | Posted by in Matthew
There is nothing like being out at a nice cafe on a sunny day with plans to head over to the playground when your toddler who was sitting in his highchair randomly throws up all his fluffy and chips that’s he’s just ingested. With no real warning. We decided to take him home, luckily we were just finishing up, where he had a feed then threw it up all over me again. Poor sick bubba, he spent the rest of the day cuddled up asleep on me. Luckily on Sunday he was feeling a lot brighter and cheerful as Jacqui was down for the day and was wanting to spend time hanging out with Matthew. I was a bit worried that it was gastro, but nothing really eventuated from being ill so I think it was just something he ate which disagreed with him.
Matthew and I went along see ‘What to Expect when you’re Expecting’ at the Mum’s and Bubs movie session last week, which we hadn’t been to since Matthew was about 5-6 months old. We were joined by a few of the girls from coffee group, as well as Rebecca and baby Harrison. It’s so amazing how you forget how easy it is to take a small baby out anywhere, they sleep a lot and you can enjoy your activity while cuddling them. Matthew on the other hand couldn’t (and we didn’t expect him too) sit still for more than a few minutes, so I spent most of the movie standing up walking up and down the side of the movie theatre while Matthew and Jamie hyped each other up and ran around. Towards the end of the film Matthew and Jamie discovered that they could actually get under the curtain at the front, so I missed most of the last 15 minutes as I was too busy pulling them out. The boys thought it was incredibly funny, which it was, but too much of a risk of them pressing a button that could break the screen or something. And then we wouldn’t have been very popular people.
I brought Matthew some gumboots a couple of weeks ago, due to it being winter and the muddyness that comes with that. He loves them, wants to wear them all the time. Infact, he wants to wear them so much that he’s learnt how to put them on himself. Doesn’t always get the correct foot on, but it’s pretty clever of him.
