Howick Midnight Madness 2011 – A Photo Essay

November 12th, 2011 | Posted by Andie in Photography

Midnight Madness for me is the start of the Christmas season. None of this Christmas decorations in October that we see around the place. I don’t remember when I first went to Midnight Madness up in Howick, I was a kid at the time, and I’m not sure how many times I’ve been, but I do quite enjoy going even if it’s just for the atmosphere rather than the shopping. It was quite chilly for November as we are meant to be hitting summer in a couple of weeks so we just wrapped ourselves up in some warm clothing before heading out.

So last night, we watched the lights turn on at Stockade Hill, then wandered down Howick’s main street to where they had a display of lights and those singing, dancing christmas toys that you were allowed to touch and turn on. Matthew loved all the colours and lights, a real treat. Looked at a few shops and headed back home.

I didn’t take my DSLR up with me, but I did have my phone on me, so here are some photos from the evening.

The tree at Stockade Hill // Full Moon // Picton Street from Stockade Hill // Picton Street from the top

Baked Goodies // Matthew all wrapped up // Rob cuddling Matthew // Snowing Christmas Tree

Random Christmas Decorations // Dancing Penguin // Model Town // Lights on the tent roof

Light Christmas Tree // More Lights // Blow Up Snowmen // Happy Little Monkey

Singing Santa // Light Display // Model Train in the Model Town // Blow Up Snow Globe
