High Tea
June 2nd, 2011 | Posted by in PhotographyIn a classy turn of events, Simon and Melissa decided to have a high tea for their house warming party. I’d never been to a high tea before so this was something new and exciting. Everyone took along a plate (sweet or savoury) which made for a great selection.
A selection of the foods included cinnamon cupcakes, chocolate crackles, meatballs wrapped in prosciutto, lemon cupcakes, chocolate slice, gingerbread slice and mini sandwiches. There were a few other bits and pieces also.

We had a couple of games of Carcassone after the food had been nibbled on and while we were snacking on a few bits. It’s one of those create your own map style games which means that no one game is the same.
And no high tea would be complete without a couple of littles joining us. Thats Matthew on the left and Max on the right.

Have you ever been to a high tea? What is your favourite high tea food / drink?

I haven’t done High Tea yet but as it’s one of my sister’s favourite things to do we’re doing it as a part of her Hen’s Do next month. I can only hope that it’s as yummy as everything looks in your pics!!!

Oh man, I am craving one of those fruity scones! What a great idea for a housewarming.
I have been to one high tea. It was a breast cancer foundation do and was at a swish hotel and it was amaaay-zing! There was champagne, juice, tea, coffee, chocolates, cookies, pastries … fashion parade, goodie bags … heaps of stuff. And I went with my best friend, so it was a perfect afternoon.
Ah, I just wrote a comment and my computer ate it! So, apologies if I’ve posted two similar comments :)
I love the idea of high tea. Anything that involves pretty tea cups, finger sandwiches and cupcakes gets my tick of approval. Scones are absolutely the best bit of high tea – with lots of jam and cream, of course.
Great photos! Am visiting from FYBF – looking forward to reading more of your posts xxx

YUmmo! We’re going to the Victoria Room for my sister-in-law’s hens in October – can’t wait! I love a champagne cocktail at high tea! Warm scones with butter, jam, and cream are great too :)
I’ve had high tea once and it was actually very high. It was at the top of one of the tallest buildings in Singapore and I can’t even remember the food, I can only remember the amazing view!
