Java Cookies

January 16th, 2008 | Posted by Andie in Recipes

250g all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
200g butter
165g brown sugar
100g white sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
100g chocolate chips

1. Preheat oven for ten minutes at 175 deg C

2. Add all ingredients, starting at the top and mixing to combine as you go

3. Put some baking paper or tinfoil on an oven tray

4. Spoon palm-size balls of dough onto the baking paper, flattening gently with a fork

5. Stick the tray in the oven for at about 10 minutes. If they aren’t ready after 10 minutes, leave them in but keep checking every couple of minutes until they are cooked

6. Take the cookies out and leave them to cool down. Eat at free will once cooled.

I love this recipe for two reasons. One, they are simple, simple cookies to make and they taste great! Two, the site I found this recipe on had the recipe written in java! Thats truely the geek side of me coming out. Don’t worry though, I have simplified the recipe out of code language to make it easier to read for the non-geeks out there :)
